LIEmails

LIEmails gives you the scoop on:
•  How to tell whether an e-mail is suspicious
•  What to do if you receive an e-mail lie
•  Can e-mail forwarding really be tracked?

Have you received e-mails from friends or co-workers about a computer virus? Or asking you to watch for a missing child? Or suggesting that some big company will send you a check for forwarding their e-mails?

Almost all such e-mails are simply not true. They destroy the sender's credibility. And it's EASY to check on such things BEFORE you forward them.

That's why this site is called LIEmails. When YOU receive a suspicious e-mail, use the resources we've provided, and find out whether there's anything to it. Don't be responsible for spreading a lie!

To check the status of an e-mail, try the following Web sites: Does the e-mail warn you about an alleged computer virus? Check it at These Web sites are good for researching very current items: If you're looking for information specific to a particular city, try: For general searches, we recommend:

Why LIEmails?

We hope these resources are useful for everyone - but this site was developed by born-again Christians, as a Christian ministry.

As Christians, we are commanded to, and we do, care about others - so when we hear of problems, or ways we can help others, we want to do so. Many times, we receive e-mails with just such information, and often those e-mails urge us to forward them to everyone we can.

BUT...usually, that information is just not true! The result: God's Kingdom gets a black eye - our credibility and our Christian witness are compromised - when we find ourselves passing along lies.

The next time you get e-mail, check BEFORE you forward it. Don't just believe it, even if it's from a friend or otherwise-reliable source. You can help stop e-mail lies!

For information about this Web site, please e-mail us. NOTE: LIEmails cannot research e-mails for you. If you have a suspect e-mail, DO NOT send it to us - instead, use the resources we've provided to check it out.
